Photos of Colorful Cottonwoods In A Pasture; Mount Princeton In Background - September 26, 2011
Photos I was traveling outside of Buena Vista, Colorado (as I usually do) in search of a decent
photo to take of Mount Princeton for my website www.MtPrinceton.org.
On Chaffee County Road 326, a barren dirt road, I began to photograph this beautiful view of
the mountain with some cottonwoods with autumn foliage in the foreground.
Then I thought, "Why not hike all the way out there?" Perhaps I could get a better shot.
So I walked about a mile in a wide open pasture, gazing at this marvelous "14er"
(a mountain with an elevation of over 14,000+ feet at the top), and I thought to myself,
"Wow! It's like I'm on vacation." So many
people vacation in Colorado for the express purpose of enjoying the
beautiful fall colors.
Hotels, ski lodges and bed breakfasts often have special packages to lure people to
visit their town in the mountains. As a long-term resident of Buena Vista,
a huge feeling of gratitude came upon me that I live here.
Closer I came to those colorful leaves!
My favorite photo. Friends, I do encourage you to consider paying a visit to Colorado in the fall.
No doubt, there are prettier places for fall foliage tours and getaways among autumn leaves
such as Vermont, New Hampshire
and the Great Smoky Mountains,
but don't overlook Colorado. We do have plenty of color during the fall and nothing beats our mountains!
Those cottonwood leaves have a nice view of the mountain! :)
